AICodeDog
Quickstart

Make your first call in 5 minutes

No SDK required — change the Base URL to api.aicodedog.com and the rest of the request shape is identical to upstream. Three steps below and you'll have a working API key.

Already using Cursor / Claude Code / Cline?
Jump straight to /integrate — 14+ tools with copy-paste configs, 30 seconds to switch, you don't need this page.

① Sign up and grab an API key

  1. Open the sign-up page — enter your email and click the magic link; no card or password setup needed.
  2. Sign in, open the console, and head to the API Key management page in the sidebar.
  3. Click Create key. The sk-... string shown in the dialog disappears the moment you close it, so store it somewhere safe right away (e.g. 1Password).
  4. New users get ¥30 trial credit on a ¥10 first top-up — plenty to finish this quickstart.
Treat your API key like a password
A leaked key will burn your account on someone else's behalf. Never commit it to git or hard-code it in front-end code — always read it from an env var, e.g. process.env.AICODEDOG_KEY.

② Make your first call

First, write the key to an env var (avoids leaking it to shell history and source code):

bash
export AICODEDOG_KEY="sk-paste-the-key-you-just-got"

Then pick any of the snippets below to hit Chat Completions:

curl
curl https://api.aicodedog.com/v1/chat/completions \ -H "Authorization: Bearer $AICODEDOG_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "model": "gpt-5.4", "messages": [ {"role": "user", "content": "Explain in one sentence what an API relay is."} ] }'
python
# pip install openai from openai import OpenAI client = OpenAI( api_key="<AICODEDOG_KEY>", base_url="https://api.aicodedog.com/v1", # ← key change: just swap base_url ) resp = client.chat.completions.create( model="gpt-5.4", messages=[{"role": "user", "content": "Explain in one sentence what an API relay is."}], ) print(resp.choices[0].message.content)
node
// npm i openai import OpenAI from 'openai'; const client = new OpenAI({ apiKey: process.env.AICODEDOG_KEY, baseURL: 'https://api.aicodedog.com/v1', // ← key change: just swap baseURL }); const resp = await client.chat.completions.create({ model: 'gpt-5.4', messages: [{ role: 'user', content: 'Explain in one sentence what an API relay is.' }], }); console.log(resp.choices[0].message.content);

③ Pick a model that fits

Every available model is listed at /models (with prices, official comparisons, capability tags). Common picks:

  1. Best quality: claude-opus-4-1 or gpt-5.4.
  2. Best value: DeepSeek-V4-Pro or Kimi-K2.6.
  3. Coding: claude-opus-4-1-cc (tuned for Claude Code with tool use).
  4. Image generation: nano-banana-pro (Google) or seedream-4-5 (ByteDance).
  5. Video generation: veo3-1-lite (Google) or wan2-7 (Alibaba).
Not sure which to pick?
Start with gpt-5.4-mini — cheap, fast, accurate enough. Switch by workload once your product is working.
